Is there a difference between success and failure? There is not much of a difference in general because it is up to you to decide what it means. At least through failure I have learned what doesn’t work. Rather than making big plans, I should validate small steps first.

Like life, it is actually a million steps. Looking back, it will make sense and obvious but for now we’re still searching. If you love it, and you have energy to do the work, then it will grow over time.

We need you.

Share what you are learning from other people a little below or a little ahead. The problem is that we spent a month striving for one thing. It is not how it works. You have to persist for years. We stop writing because it is too hard, too difficult, too challenging. You must surmount a long series of organization, feedback, and practicing.

We are tired of old sayings, catchphrases, and clichés. We need you to write new language and a new insight on an old idea. That will change other people’s minds for the better.

A view is a real person with a real need.

Building a Second Brain Book Club

The first small group was a smashing success! We had five meetings but next time I might just dive in just four weeks. Or I might come up with some exercises. I’ve been thinking about Building a Second Brain since at least 2019. Start with the PARA Method book to apply Projects, Areas, Resources, and Archives effectively. Once you have applied the techniques to organize your writing, files, and folders, then you can use the BASB book as a series of experiments to improve your writing and your personal monopoly. You must write every day. PARA for 90%. 10%, use a slip box filled with ideas to grow with data. Focus on an aim and keep a daily log. Meetings, private communities, and X/Twitter are necessary for accountability.
